There is a jar of spirulina powder that sits in my pantry, almost forgotten, when today I glanced at the best before date – December 2016 – and decided I should take some each day until time runs out.

Spirulina is a saltwater plant, known for being a ‘superfood’ because it is really dense in nutrients. Dried spirulina:

  • 48% protein, 30% carb, 22% fat
  • good source of Vitamin K, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium and Potassium, and a very good source of Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Iron, Copper and Manganese.
