The target of reading a book a week feels a little less daunting when framed instead as a goal of pages to be read per day.

If an average book is around 300 pages, then carving out enough time to read 50 pages a day will get you to a book a week, or a little more.

The next step is to figure out what are the skills and tips that are helpful for maximising comprehension and memory – a topic for another post.

Thus far, an enthusiastic start with five books read before the second week of 2017 is over.

No doubt this pace will eventually lessen, especially as I turn to, and spend more time on,  the more difficult to answer question of how to retain, retell, or remember all this information I am reading.
