Something I want to ponder / read on further is how best to respond to events that may seem disappointing.

While we may at first feel upset, disappointed, frustrated etc, the best way to respond may be the way that is most positive and productive.

That doesn’t mean we ignore our initial emotions. We should acknowledge them, and think through the underlying reasons why:

  • I feel upset because…
  • Because of this and this… I feel frustrated
  • That was disappointing, I was expecting this, and instead that happened.

And then perhaps we should then farewell the emotion, and concentrate our energy on responding in the most productive and positive manner.

Is that the best way to respond? Something to think about further…
