Mankind’s sources of food may have to look a little different to support a growing global population of the future.

Many of our current food sources – animal meats especially – suck up resources, and contribute poorly to the environment (soil sustainability, environmental degradation, global warming).

Insects could play a part in our future food mix. Insects are extremely efficient at converting plant matter into protein and dietary energy, are low cost and environmentally friendly.

For these reasons, insects for food and feed show great potential as an environmentally friendly food source in future food systems.
